6 of the Coolest Wedding Cake Bakers in London Right Now

Quite possibly one of the best parts of planning a wedding, designing a cake with a baker who’s style you love is a real highlight. The perfect opportunity to let your ideas run wild, test out and choose your favourite flavours and have a lovely time with your fiancé in the meantime, we love the cake planning process. Below we’ve listed 6 of our current favourite wedding cake bakers based in London, who are able to create beautiful designs for weddings in both London and the surrounding areas.

1. Rosalind Miller

Started up by Rosalind after an inspiring trip to see the iconic Magnolia Bakery in New York, she started up her cake business alongside her role as lecturer at Central St Martins. Moving rapidly from a weekend market stall in Greenwich through to a full time cake business, she quickly became known for her elegant, contemporary and design led cakes. Her cakes have been featured in Vogue and Brides, sold in Harrods Food Hall and have graced celebrations in venues such as The Ritz and The Savoy.

2. Luminary Bakery

Both a bakery and a social enterprise, Luminary Bakery was created to offer job opportunities for women from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds, to build a better future for themselves. Not only does the business have real heart but they also bake delicious and beautiful cakes too, wrapped in buttercream and topped in fruit, flowers and fresh ingredients. We can even vouch for the delicious flavour, as they used to be the centrepiece to a monthly cake day at our offices!

4. April’s Baker

Described by Sheerluxe as “cakes that showcase a glimmer of fantasy and capture vintage elegance”, April’s Baker was launched by Roxy Mankoo, a Le Cordon Bleu trained chef who decided to pursue her dream of running a luxury bespoke wedding cake business. Learning from bakeries across both London and New York, her cakes take decadence to a whole new level, with clients including Alexa Chung, Bumble, Dua Lipa and Harrods.

5. Violet Cakes

Starting out as a market stall on Broadway Market cooking her lovely cakes from home, Claire Ptak then went on to open her own cafe in 2010. With a core belief that all cakes should taste just as good as they look, all their cakes are baked using organic and low intervention ingredients, typically smothered in tasty Swiss meringue buttercream, decorated in fresh flowers and served on an acrylic board. Just reading their flavour options is enough to make you very hungry; a few of our favourites include Amalfi Lemon and Elderflower Cake, Vanilla Bubble Cake and Tiramisu Cake.
