Fun Party Wedding at Asylum Chapel and Perseverance Works

Embracing all the laidback edge that East London has to offer, Carina and Oliver’s wedding captured by Motiejus was equal parts romantic and fun. Starting the day getting ready at the quirky South Place Hotel, with the bride dressed in a timeless embellished dress and bridesmaids in deep plum, the wedding party then travelled to the well loved Asylum Chapel to say their vows. A firm favourite amongst both couples and photographers, this Grade II listed building built in 1826 has a truly magical and mysterious quality to it. Like something plucked from a film set, its striking architecture, stained glass windows and distressed interiors make for the perfect juxtaposition against the beautiful wedding party, flowers and candles.

Following the ceremony, the couple then made their way onto the rest of the wedding celebrations via a very quintessentially British mode of transport - the humble black cab. The wedding reception was held at Perseverance Works, a creative wedding and party location in Shoreditch with high ceilings and big warehouse style windows, that provided the ideal canvas for their day. After food and lots of funny and emotional speeches, it was time to head to the dance floor where a live band played the wedding guests well into the night. The dance floor was the epitome of party, with white balloons covering the ceiling, walls of golden tinsel and multicoloured confetti surrounding the room.

The pièce de résistance to the evening was the cake. Featuring three tiers of colourful mastery, the delicious cake was covered in nostalgic sweets and brightly hued frosting, suiting the light-hearted feel of the day perfectly. Plus, we imagine it provided a rather tasty late night snack for guests working up an appetite on the dance floor.
