Sarah and Ben’s Pretty English Cottage Garden Style Wedding in France

Taking place at the pretty, quaint cottage-style Manoir de la Foulquetière in the heart of the Loire Valley, Sarah and Ben’s wedding venue is a feast for the eyes. Their photographer for the day Romain Didier aka ‘The French Wedding Photographer’ perfectly captured this warm, cosy and oh so beautiful feeling through his wonderful photos below, which we can’t wait to share with you!

With both of the couple coming from the UK, Sarah from up North, Ben from down South, this destination wedding venue enabled them to enjoy spectacular weather on their wedding day and pure blue skies in such beautiful surroundings with all their nearest and dearest. From the verdant and luscious gardens tinted golden by romantic festoon lighting come the evening, to their bohemian outdoor spaces filled with Indian style parasols, Persian rugs and mismatch vintage furniture, the venue formed a wonderful laid-back space for the day’s proceedings.

Making the most of the indoor spaces, with the buildings beautiful golden sandstone as a backdrop, Sarah and her bridesmaids all in matching dove grey silk dressing gowns got ready in the bedrooms, whilst Ben and his groomsmen suited and booted in their light grey three piece suits and bowties, chilled and chatted downstairs. To fit with the vintage style of the wedding, Ben opted to style his suit with vintage accessories including a pocket watch and brogues.

The bride wore a beautiful V neck plunge A line dress with delicate detailed bohemian style lace, accompanied by bridesmaids in dark grey, with mismatch complementing dress styles. The lovely little flower girls were in pretty daisy appliqué white dresses topped with wax flower crowns.

The gorgeous floral arrangements came into their own at this wedding, and really brought the overall whimsical English garden style to life. Choosing to have a ceremony in the woodlands with beautiful dappled sunlight, beyond pretty ‘planted’ style floral arrangements lined the aisle featuring grasses, foliage and dusty pink flowers, and led to a show-stopping bushy and oh-so-beautiful floral arch. Add to that mismatched vintage chairs and a serene harpist to play them down the aisle and this ceremony set up was beyond romantic and memorable.

Following the ceremony and drinks reception, they enjoyed dinner within the beautiful surroundings of the venue, featuring mismatched tapestry embroidered chairs against the backdrop of the lovely sandstone walls. The meadow floral theme carried on into this space and really brought that fairytale feel, as they topped the tables and climbed from the floor up. After tucking into their croquembouche wedding cake, guests enjoyed dancing right into the early hours, as festoon lights twinkled all around.
