  1. Chateau Bagnols

Located just 40 minutes from the city of Lyon, the beautiful Chateau Bagnols is nestled in the heart of the Beaujolais and golden stone country. Surrounded by moats, drawbridges and towers and in the midst of a vineyard, the venue feels elegant without feeling ostentatious. Featuring manicured French gardens, a lovely Roman pool, a five star spa hotel with it’s own fine dining restaurant, it’s the perfect balance of luxury and traditional. Host your ceremony on the edge of the Roman basin, in the garden or in amongst their 116 cherry trees. After that, enjoy a delicious dinner with up to 150 of your guests within the heart of the chateau. The venue has 25 suites in which to sleep your guests and can be hired the next day for a chilled post-wedding brunch.

2. Chateau De La Pizay

With a gorgeous tree lined driveway on arrival, Chateau De La Pizay will capture your guests from the moment they arrive. With beautiful architecture and surrounding Beaujolais vineyards, the Chateau hotel and spa can host up to 250 of your guests, which several venues on site available for you to use. The Hornbeam Avenue is a lovely large shaded space that leads to the French garden and is great for cocktails. The wine cellar is also a great weather proof cocktail option too! The Cuvage Room is filled with old world charm and is where you’ll host your dinner and dancing, updated with modern touches such as air con and underfloor heating.

3. The Palais de la Bourse Lyon

Located right in the centre of Lyon, The Palais de la Bourse Lyon is classified as a historic monument and is an emblem of Lyon. Inside they have 5 beautiful adaptable spaces for your wedding and it can host up to a whopping 1500 guests. The main space is The Salle de la Corbeille and is the centrepiece of the building. A jewel of architectural heritage, 845 square metres wide and 25 metres high, it is beautifully illuminated by natural light in the day time and can be atmospherically lit in the evening. Next to this space is the Salle des Agents de Change which is often used in conjunction with the main room. The venue can easily be accessed via public transport and is located in downtown Lyon, with plenty of lovely hotels surrounding it for your guests.

4. Abbaye de Collonge - Paul Bocuse

With rich history dating back to the 1840s, the Abbaye was previously a former farmstead inhabited by monks and was converted into a space dedicated to celebrations and festivities by Paul Bocuse, a famous three star gourmet chef. With fun, quirky and historic architecture, the venue has a series of rooms and areas you can use for your festivities.

5. L’Embarcadère

Located right on the banks of the River Saône, L’Embaracadère is a cool and modern space that you can fully privatise for up to 700 guests. With indoor and outdoor spaces that are adaptable to the kind of wedding you’re after, we think their outdoor space is particularly beautiful for a chilled wedding. 6. Chateau de Corcelles

A beautiful 17th century French castle and member of the renowned Relais & Châteaux group, this family owned wedding venue perfectly combines French-style luxury and refinement. They can accommodate 130 guests for a sit down dinner or 200 for a cocktail reception and have a dedicated in-house team to help you with the full wedding planning process. The venue also has 20 bedrooms and suites in which to host your guests.

7. Chateau de Césarges

Located close to both Lyon and Grenoble, the stunning Chateau de Césarges is nestled within a 7 hectare park and exudes charm and refined elegance. Cocktails can be enjoyed within the parkland or in the interior courtyard, and the venue has a 170 square metre reception room for dinner and dancing that can host up to 150 of your guests. The chateau can sleep up to 28 of your guests and is available for a brunch the day after the wedding too!

8. Fourvière Hôtel

Located at the top of the Roman theatres, the Hotel is the former convent of the Visitation built in 1854 reinvented by the designer who created the famous Basilica. The venue has lots of lovely rooms and lounges in which to host your wedding and can sleep lots of guests across their 75 air-conditioned rooms. For those who love a spa retreat, this hotel’s wellness offering is wonderful, with a 25 metre heated swimming lane, a jacuzzi, hammam, ice fountain and sensory showers.
