Located just a short drive from the historic city of Heraklion, Cretan Winery Durakis is a idyllic spot for a wedding. Home to a family-owned vineyard with incredible views of the Lasithi Mountains, it is perfect for weddings both large and small. 4. Agreco Farm
Nestled in the heart of Crete, the beautifully authentic Agreco Farm is filled with rustic charm and is a well-loved spot in the area. A large 1500 square metre wedding venue, Markakis Estate has a real modern Greek feel and is a beautiful blank canvas wedding venue. Say your ‘I Do’s’ on the whitewashed cobbled square surrounded by olive, palm, fig and bay trees with up to 70 guests, or in the spacious Greek chapel of Saint Nicolas. For cocktail hour, make the most of Cactus Corner for photographs and the outdoor lounge for drinks and canapés. For the reception, dine al fresco with up to 100 guests on their main village feeling event square, with a partially covered area. A beautifully restored Cretan village, Kapsaliana Village Hotel has a wonderfully laid-back feel to it. Surrounded by picturesque landscapes, it is home to the island’s largest olive grove, with an 18th century olive press and its own museum. Host your ceremony outside on the terrace, followed by a reception in their former monastic olive mill for up to 30 guests, or al fresco for up to 70 guests.
