Livia and Matt’s Pastel Dream Wedding at Hotel Villa Cipressi in Lake Como

Taking place on the beautiful shoreline of Lake Como in the exquisite Hotel Villa Cipressi, Livia and Matt’s wedding is a dream painted in pastels and florals. Surrounded by peachy toned flowers and puffs of gypsophila lining the aisle, the couple said ‘I Do’ looking out to the glistening blue sea. The bride dressed in an ethereal slim cut Galia Lahav gown with a stunning lace embellished overlay, met her groom decked in a pastel pink suit, creating an amazing visual against the azure blue backdrop. Following the ceremony they had a wonderful reception within one the venue’s beautiful rooms, complete with a handpainted floral ceiling. Plumes of flowers and tapered candlesticks lined the tables, along with pretty pale pastel stationery and favours.

HOW WE MET

“We met online through Hinge! It started off with an ice cream and a museum date, and here we are four years later! We were in Point Dume, Malibu. He led me off-trail, telling me he saw something. Not long after, I walked down a path with our framed photos all around and still wasn’t sure what was going on. It really took me a while to realize when I saw 50 roses on the edge of the cliff with rolling waves far below in a beautiful sunset. I was too busy looking and analyzing the surroundings, then there he was on one knee in the sand. A moment I’ll never ever forget!”

MEMORABLE MOMENT

“The moment I walked down the aisle and saw my husband standing in front of the altar. I never would have thought I could feel so many mixed emotions stirring inside me - joy, nervousness, excitement!”

THE DRESS

"The moment I tried it on, I saw myself walking down the aisle in that dress - just how I had envisioned it in my head. It was then confirmed by swiping through my photo gallery and comparing a few different dresses I tried on that day. It was really obvious that my heart kept leading me towards that dress!

On the day of the wedding there were a lot of emotions about finally getting to wear it. I was so excited that morning, then joy and confidence kicked in when I put it on. It felt unreal to feel such happiness, power, and confidence all at once. Everyone was really amazed by how intricate and beautiful the dress was.”

ADVICE FOR FUTURE BRIDES

“I wish I hadn’t felt so daunted by the idea of wedding planning. We ended up making last-minute decisions and regret not focusing on what truly mattered to us. My advice to future brides is to prioritize what is important to you as a couple and plan accordingly. Also, remember that things might not go as planned, so be prepared for the unexpected. In our case, we underestimated the likelihood of high wind gusts in the area, so we couldn't have our reception outside and had to cancel our photo sessions on a boat. Thinking about worst-case scenarios and expecting the unexpected can save you a lot of stress and disappointment!”
