Wedding Venues in Mexico’s Playa Del Carmen

Starting its life as a sleepy fishing village, the picturesque and luxurious Playa Del Carmen is now one of the trendiest spots in Mexico, and is a destination for nature lovers and party people alike. Home to white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, lively bars and cool restaurants, it’s an area that is more grounded in the Mexican culture than some of its more resort heavy neighbours up the coast, with plenty to dip in and out of as you wish.

Below we’ve detailed 6 of our favourite wedding venues in the area to help get you inspired.

1. Mahekal Beach Resort and Spa

Located on the largest beach stretch in the area, the beautiful Mahekal Beach Resort and Spa is boho chic in style and has 9 different areas that are perfect for hosting a wedding for up to 100 guests. Host your ceremony in their Palms Garden or Ceremony Garden, followed by a reception on their Ocean and Pool View Terrace, or on the Fuego Beach if you wish to be right by the water. Their experienced in-house wedding planners will be on hand to help you through the whole process, with the hotel having planned events since 1987. Within the hotel you’ll also find four pools, a lovely spa, lush gardens and high end accommodation, made up of beach houses and chic ocean view suites. Tucked right in the centre of Playa Del Carmen, the hotel is close to plenty of things to do on the days surrounding your wedding day.
