Italian Castle Wedding with an Ethereal Ceremony in the Forest
From the naturally warm and friendly sensibility of its people to the country’s relaxed and inviting atmosphere and style, there’s good reason why so many couples choose Italy as their wedding destination every year. With breathtaking historic architecture ranging from vast castles and manor houses to pretty buildings in mismatch shades of auburn, there are options aplenty for a wedding that suits you and your significant other just so.
A true advocate for an Italian soirée himself, the wedding photographer Motiejus shares with us today a lovely wedding he shot in the Friuli region of Northern Italy.
Held in the picturesque and striking venue of Castello di Spessa, the bride and groom Kirsty and Dean took every opportunity to soak up the historic splendour of the medieval castle that dates back to roman times.
Blessed with reliably good September weather, the ceremony took place in the ethereal forest gardens, with guest seated alongside a white petal and lantern lined aisle, ready for the bride’s arrival. The bride wore a sleek strapless fishtail style dress with a beautiful lace trimmed veil, accompanied by her bridesmaids in blush pink chiffon draped dresses.
After taking the opportunity for photos in the gorgeous and lush grounds, the reception dinner was held in one the main historic rooms of the castle, with guests seated around tables decorated with large, tall glass vases overflowing with blousy pink and white flowers.
The evening then led onto the cutting of the - quite frankly - enormous five tier classic white wedding cake, followed by lots of crazy dancing that lasted well beyond midnight.
